A vegetable is a seasonal/annual or perennial plant with soft stalks and can be eaten by both raw
and cooking. The different parts of the vegetable crops such as roots, leaves, stalks, fruits, pods
etc. are commonly used for eating purpose. Due to the increasing population and urbanization,
increase in public awareness on nutrition and increase consumption of vegetables, the demand for
vegetables is increasing day by day and vegetable farming is being promoted commercially all
over the country.
